Vivitrol Injections

Healthcare providers prescribe Vivitrol® (naltrexone injection) to adults who are trying to stop abusing alcohol or opioid medications. This drug is designed for use as part of a comprehensive treatment program.
Available in the form of an injection, Vivitrol is administered into the gluteal muscle once every four weeks. It is administered by a healthcare provider. There is only one standard dosage for Vivitrol, regardless of your age, weight, or the reason the medication is being used.
Although most people tolerate this medication well, it is not suitable for everyone. Before starting treatment with Vivitrol, make sure to talk to your healthcare provider about any other medical conditions you may have or any other medications you are taking (including vitamins and herbal supplements).
