Vivitrol Guidelines

The dosing guidelines for Vivitrol® (naltrexone injection) are the same for everyone, regardless of age, weight, or reason for receiving this drug.
Vivitrol is injected by a healthcare provider into the gluteal muscle once every four weeks. The usual recommended dosage of Vivitrol for treating alcohol or opioid dependence is 380 mg every 4 weeks. You should not receive Vivitrol if you have taken an opioid or opioid-containing medication in the past 7 to 10 days.
