Trazodone ER

Trazodone ER tablets are prescribed to treat depression. This antidepressant is thought to work by balancing serotonin levels in the brain. Because it is a long-acting medication, it is only taken once a day at bedtime. You may not be able to take this drug if you have certain medical conditions, such as heart disease, low blood pressure, or bipolar disorder.

What Is Trazodone ER?

Trazodone ER (Oleptro™) is a prescription medication approved for the treatment of depression. It is a long-acting, once-daily version of an older depression medication.

Are There Side Effects?

As with any medicine, trazodone ER can cause side effects.
 However, not everyone who takes the drug will experience side effects. Most people tolerate it quite well.
 
If side effects do occur, in most cases, they are minor and either require no treatment or are treated easily by you or your healthcare provider. Serious side effects are less common.
 
Common side effects of trazodone ER include but are not limited to:
 
  • Drowsiness
  • Headaches
  • Dry mouth
  • Dizziness.
