Surmontil and Breastfeeding

While no research has been conducted on Surmontil and breastfeeding, researchers expect that the medicine will pass through breast milk due to its chemical makeup. The possible effects of Surmontil on a nursing baby are unknown. It is not known if Surmontil® (trimipramine maleate) passes through breast milk. Due to the possible harmful effects Surmontil might have on the breastfeeding infant, you should talk with your healthcare provider before taking Surmontil while breastfeeding.
