Precautions and Warnings With Paliperidone

There are a number of important precautions and warnings with paliperidone to be aware of before starting treatment with the drug. For example, paliperidone can increase the risk of diabetes or cause a life-threatening irregular heart rhythm called QT prolongation in some people. A few of the conditions you should tell your healthcare provider about before taking paliperidone include diabetes, seizures, and kidney disease. To reduce the risk of drug interactions, you should also tell your healthcare provider about all other drugs you are taking.

  • Are breastfeeding
  • Drink alcohol.
     
You should also be sure to tell your healthcare provider about all other medicines you are currently taking, including prescription and non-prescription medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements.
