What Is Oxazepam Used For?Oxazepam is used for treating alcohol withdrawal and anxiety. Part of a group of drugs known as benzodiazepines, oxazepam can have a number of effects on the body, including reducing anxiety, relaxing muscles, and causing sleepiness. From time to time, a healthcare provider may recommend oxazepam for the treatment of a condition other than those listed above. Among these potential "off-label" oxazepam uses is the treatment of insomnia.
