Combining orally disintegrating alprazolam with alcohol can increase your risk for serious side effects, such as severe drowsiness, confusion, or memory loss. In general, it is best to avoid alcohol while using this medication.
 
CNS Depressants
Combining orally disintegrating alprazolam with other CNS depressants may increase your risk for serious side effects, such as drowsiness, confusion, or memory loss. Talk to your healthcare provider before taking orally disintegrating alprazolam with another CNS depressant.
 
CYP 3A4 Inducer Medications
The body breaks down alprazolam using enzymes in the liver known as CYP 3A4 enzymes. Medications known as CYP 3A4 inducers can increase the activity of these enzymes. Combining orally disintegrating alprazolam with one of these drugs may decrease the level of alprazolam in your body. Your healthcare provider may need to give you a higher orally disintegrating alprazolam dosage if you take it with a CYP 3A4 inducer.

The body breaks down alprazolam using enzymes in the liver known as CYP 3A4 enzymes. Medications known as CYP 3A4 inhibitors can decrease the activity of these enzymes. Your healthcare provider may monitor you more closely and may need to decrease your dosage of orally disintegrating alprazolam if you take it with a CYP 3A4 inhibitor.
