Narcane

A healthcare provider may prescribe Narcan® (naloxone hydrochloride) to reverse the effects of high doses of opioid narcotic drugs, such as in the case of an overdose or during surgery. This drug may also be used to increase blood pressure in those with septic shock.
 
Narcan comes as a liquid that is injected in your vein, muscle, or just under the skin. Your healthcare provider will determine your dosage based on several factors, such as your age, your weight, and the reason you are receiving the medication.
