Metadone

Methadone hydrochloride (Diskets®, Dolophine®, Methadose®) is a prescription medication licensed for several uses, such as for the treatment of pain, detoxification treatment from heroin, and maintenance treatment of heroin addiction. It is a type of narcotic opioid and does have significant potential for both physical and psychological dependence and abuse.
 
Although most people have no problems when taking this medicine, side effects are possible and may include nausea, drowsiness, and dizziness.
