Methylphenidate ER Oral Suspension Information

Available by prescription only, methylphenidate ER oral suspension (Quillivant XRTM) is a medicine used to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). It is approved for use in children as young as six years old, and can also be given to adults.
 
This drug comes as a powder that is mixed with water by your pharmacist. It is taken once daily in the morning. Side effects are possible and may include insomnia, mood swings, and reduced appetite.
 
Before starting treatment with methylphenidate ER oral suspension, your healthcare provider will need information on your medical history and any other medications, vitamins, or supplements you are taking. This medication is not suitable for some people, and may cause drug interactions if combined with certain medications.
