Information on PDD

PDD, or pervasive developmental disorder, refers to disorders in which a person experiences delays in the development of socialization and communication skills. Autism is the most characteristic form of this condition.

Children with PDD vary widely in abilities, intelligence, and behaviors. In some cases, children with PDD will not speak at all, while others will speak in limited phrases or conversations. Some have relatively normal language development. Other symptoms include repetitive body movements and difficulty with changes in routine.
