Clozapine Oral Suspension Information

The antipsychotic drug clozapine oral suspension (VersaclozTM) is approved for treating adults who have schizophrenia or those who are at risk of suicidal behavior. It works by blocking the effects of dopamine, a chemical in the brain that is believed to be elevated in people with schizophrenia. It also blocks the effects of another brain chemical known as serotonin.
 
This prescription drug comes as a liquid that is taken once or twice a day. Your dosage will depend on how you respond to the drug, other medical conditions you may have, and other factors.
