Amphetamine and Dextroamphetamine Extended Release Info

One of the many medications used to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is amphetamine-dextroamphetamine extended release (Adderall XR®). Because this drug is a stimulant, there are special rules and guidelines concerning its sale and use. This product comes in capsule form and should be taken first thing in the morning.
 
Based on the information gathered in clinical trials, amphetamine-dextroamphetamine extended release appears to be an effective ADHD treatment. Children, teenagers, and adults all experienced a marked improvement in symptoms compared to those who did not take the drug. Common side effects include loss of appetite, difficulty sleeping, and dry mouth.
