An Overview of Generic Mellaril

Part of a class of drugs known as "typical antipsychotics," Mellaril® (thioridazine) is a prescription medicine that has been licensed to treat schizophrenia.
 
Mellaril was originally manufactured by Novartis Pharmaceuticals. However, the patents for all Mellaril products have expired, and each Mellaril product is available as a generic. In fact, brand-name Mellaril is no longer being made.
