Vilazodone, a prescription drug, is used to treat cases of major depression. It is thought to work by increasing the activity of serotonin in the brain and binding to certain serotonin receptors. The medication is taken once a day and is generally well tolerated. However, side effects, such as nausea and vomiting, are possible.

Just like any medicine, vilazodone can cause side effects. However, not everyone who takes the drug will experience problems. Most people tolerate it quite well.
If side effects do occur, in most cases, they are minor and either require no treatment or are treated easily by you or your healthcare provider. Serious reactions are less common.
