Mental Health Home > Narcan Uses
As a type of opioid antidote, Narcan can be used to reverse the effects of opioids, to diagnose a suspected opioid overdose, and to increase blood pressure in people with septic shock. It works by binding to opioid receptors, preventing other opioids from also binding to them. However, Narcan does not have any effects and will not cause the euphoria that occurs with opioids.
