Levomilnacipran may react with a number of other medications (see Drug Interactions With Levomilnacipran).
Levomilnacipran is quite effective at treating depression and is usually well tolerated. However, not everyone will adequately respond to it. In addition, some people may experience serious or intolerable side effects and may need to stop taking the medication. For those people, alternative depression treatments may be needed.
Some of the possible alternatives to levomilnacipran include:
- Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs)
- Tricyclic antidepressants (TCAs)
- Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs)
- Other serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors
- Miscellaneous antidepressants.

Psychotherapy is another possible effective treatment for depression. It can be used alone or in combination with an antidepressant (see Psychotherapy for Depression for more information).
At this time, it is not exactly clear what to expect from an overdose. If you happen to take too much levomilnacipran, seek immediate medical attention.

Levomilnacipran should be stored at room temperature. Keep this and all other medications out of the reach of children and pets.
