  • Irregular heart rhythms (arrhythmias)

Storage Methods

Bupropion SR should be stored at room temperature, away from moisture or heat, in an airtight container. Keep this and all other medications out of the reach of children.

What Should I Do If I Miss a Dose?

If you do not take your bupropion SR as scheduled, take your missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule. Do not take a double dose.

Strengths of Bupropion SR

Bupropion SR tablets are available in three strengths:
  • Bupropion SR 100 mg
  • Bupropion SR 150 mg
  • Bupropion SR 200 mg.

Is There a Generic Version?

Currently, both brand-name and generic versions of bupropion SR are licensed for sale. Some versions are generic substitutes for Wellbutrin SR, while others are generic substitutes for Zyban. Technically, they are not interchangeable, although the only difference is in the prescribing information. Also, one company has chosen to use different names for its generic bupropion SR versions: Budeprion SR® (generic for Wellbutrin SR) and Buproban® (generic for Zyban).
