Drug Interactions With Lorazepam

Some of the drugs that can potentially interact with lorazepam include alcohol, anesthetics, and narcotics. Lorazepam drug interactions can increase your risk of side effects such as memory loss and confusion, among other things. Be sure to talk with your healthcare provider about potential drug interactions with lorazepam before taking lorazepam with another medication.

 

An Overview of Drug Interactions With Lorazepam

Lorazepam (Ativan®) can potentially interact with certain other medications. Some of these medicines that may lead to lorazepam interactions include:
 
  • Alcohol
  • Anesthetics
  • Antidepressant medications
  • Antipsychotic medications, such as:

 

 

  • Barbiturates, including:

 

    • Amobarbital (Amytal®)
    • Butalbital (Fioricet®, Fiorinal®)
    • Pentobarbital (Nembutal®)
    • Phenobarbital (Luminal®)
    • Secobarbital (Seconal®)

 

 

 

  • Probenecid
  • Seizure medications
  • Sleep medications.
