Haloperidol (Haldol)
Taking
lisdexamfetamine and
haloperidol together can change the way the brain reacts to lisdexamfetamine, making lisdexamfetamine less effective. Your healthcare provider may need to adjust your dose of these drugs.
Lithium (Eskalith, Lithobid)
Taking lisdexamfetamine and
lithium together can decrease the effectiveness of lisdexamfetamine. Your healthcare provider may need to adjust your dose of these drugs.
Medications for High Blood Pressure
Meperidine (Demerol)
Taking lisdexamfetamine and meperidine together can increase your risk of side effects. Your healthcare provider may need to adjust your dose of these drugs.
Methenamine (Hiprex, Urex)
Taking lisdexamfetamine and methenamine together can decrease the amount of lisdexamfetamine in the blood, possibly making lisdexamfetamine less effective. Your healthcare provider may need to adjust your dose of these drugs.
Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors (MAOIs)
Taking lisdexamfetamine and an MAOI together can cause life-threatening side effects, such as very
high blood pressure. Do not take lisdexamfetamine if you have taken an MAOI in the past two weeks.
Phenobarbital (Luminal)
Taking lisdexamfetamine and phenobarbital together can cause phenobarbital to be absorbed into the body more slowly, possibly making it less effective. Taking the two medications together can also cause phenobarbital to be more effective at preventing
seizures. It is difficult to predict whether taking the medications together will increase or decrease the effectiveness of phenobarbital. Your healthcare provider may need to adjust your dose of these drugs.
