Librium Interactions Explained

The following sections explain in detail the potentially negative interactions that can occur when Librium is combined with any of the drugs listed above.
 
Alcohol
Combining alcohol with Librium can increase your risk of side effects, such as drowsiness, confusion, memory loss, or difficulty breathing. Serious side effects may occur. It is best to avoid alcohol while taking Librium (see Librium and Alcohol).
 
Anesthetics
Combining anesthetics with Librium can increase your risk of side effects, such as drowsiness, confusion, memory loss, or difficulty breathing. Serious side effects may occur. Make sure your healthcare providers know you are taking Librium before you undergo any surgical procedure.
 
Antidepressant Medications
Combining an antidepressant with Librium can increase your risk of side effects, such as drowsiness, confusion, memory loss, or difficulty breathing. Serious side effects may occur. Make sure to talk to your healthcare provider before taking Librium with an antidepressant, as you may need to be monitored more closely.
 
Antipsychotic Medications
Combining an antipsychotic medication with Librium can increase your risk of side effects, such as drowsiness, confusion, memory loss, or difficulty breathing. Serious side effects may occur. Make sure to talk to your healthcare provider before taking Librium with an antipsychotic medication.
 
Barbiturates
Combining a barbiturate with Librium can increase your risk of side effects, such as drowsiness, confusion, memory loss, or difficulty breathing. Serious side effects may occur. Make sure to talk to your healthcare provider before taking Librium with a barbiturate.
