Drug Interactions With Haloperidol

A few of the drugs that can potentially interact with haloperidol include certain antibiotics, some anesthetics, and certain arrhythmia medications. Some of these drug interactions with haloperidol can increase your risk of dangerous side effects or potentially lead to a dangerous, irregular heart rhythm called QT prolongation.     • Ciprofloxacin (Cipro®, Cipro XR®)
    • Clarithromycin (Biaxin®, Biaxin XL®)
    • Erythromycin (Ery-Tab®)
    • Gemifloxacin (Factive®)
    • Levofloxacin (Levaquin®)
    • Mefloquine (Lariam®)
    • Moxifloxacin (Avelox®)
    • Norfloxacin (Noroxin®)
    • Ofloxacin (Floxin®)
    • Telithromycin (Ketek®)
    • Troleandomycin (Tao®)

 

  • Certain arrhythmia medications, including:

 

    • Amiodarone (Cordarone®)
    • Disopyramide (Norpace®, Norpace CR®)
    • Dofetilide (Tikosyn®)
    • Flecainide (Tambocor®)
    • Ibutilide (Corvert®)
    • Procainamide (Procanbid®)
    • Propafenone (Rhythmol®)
    • Quinidine
