Ginseng? Ginsang is a common misspelling of ginseng.

People take ginseng for a variety of reasons, most often to stimulate the immune system and to improve mental functioning and overall mental health. The herbal supplement appears to have blood-thinning properties and estrogen-like effects, and may also help to lower blood sugar using various mechanisms. Although most people tolerate ginseng products well, some of the side effects that have been reported with the supplement include high blood pressure, breast pain, and vaginal bleeding.
