Who Should Not Take Fluvoxamine CR?

You should not take fluvoxamine CR if you:
 
  • Are allergic to fluvoxamine CR, Luvox CR, or any inactive components used to make the medication. Your healthcare provider or pharmacist has a list of the inactive ingredients.
     
  • Are taking certain medications, including:
 
 
  • Are taking linezolid (Zyvox®) or intravenous methylene blue. Fluvoxamine CR should not be started in people taking linezolid or IV methylene blue, but a person already taking fluvoxamine CR may be given linezolid or methylene blue, if absolutely necessary, and only with very careful monitoring and only if fluvoxamine CR is stopped during treatment.
  • Have taken a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) within the past two weeks. Also, you should not take an MAOI if you have taken fluvoxamine CR within the past two weeks. MAOIs include:
