Elavil Side Effects

Some common side effects of Elavil include hair loss, weight gain, and erectile dysfunction (ED or impotence). Also, people who suddenly stop taking Elavil may experience withdrawal side effects, which can include nausea, headache, irritability, restlessness, and sleep problems. A few of the Elavil side effects that you should report to your healthcare provider include suicidal thoughts, changes in heart rhythm, and signs of an allergic reaction.

 

Elavil Side Effects: An Introduction

As with any medicine, there are possible side effects with Elavil® (amitriptyline hydrochloride). However, not everyone who takes Elavil will experience side effects. In fact, most people tolerate Elavil well. When people do develop Elavil side effects, in many cases they are minor, meaning they require no treatment or are easily treated by you or your healthcare provider.
