Desyrel® is a prescription medication that is often used for the treatment of depression in adults. By balancing the levels of a chemical in the brain called serotonin, the medication can improve the symptoms of depression. Desyrel, which comes in tablet form and is available in a number of strengths, is generally taken one to three times a day. Possible side effects include dizziness, nausea, headache, and drowsiness.
