Serious Campral Side Effects

Some side effects with Campral, while occurring infrequently, are potentially serious and should be reported immediately to your healthcare provider. These include but are not limited to:
 
  • Suicidal thoughts or behaviors
  • Signs of an allergic reaction, such as:
 
    • Unexplained rash
    • Hives
    • Itching
    • Swelling of the mouth or throat
    • Wheezing
    • Difficulty breathing.
 

Rare Campral Side Effects

Rare Campral side effects occurred in less than 1 percent of people taking the drug. Because these side effects are so uncommon, it is difficult to tell whether they are caused by Campral or something else. There is a good chance that these "side effects" could be completely unrelated to Campral.
 
These less common side effects include but are not limited to:
 
  • Migraines
  • Hepatitis
  • Ulcers
  • An underactive thyroid (hypothyroidism)
  • Weight loss (see Campral and Weight Gain)
  • Anemia
  • Leg cramps
  • A spinning sensation (vertigo)
  • Asthma
  • Nosebleeds
  • Acne
  • Eczema
  • Hair loss
  • Ringing in the ears (tinnitus).
     

Final Thoughts on Campral Side Effects

You may experience some or none of the Campral side effects listed in this article. Unfortunately, there is no way for your healthcare provider to know beforehand if you will have side effects from a medicine that you have never taken. Therefore, make sure to let your healthcare provider know if you develop any side effects while taking the drug or if something "just does not seem right." While it may not be a side effect of Campral, your healthcare provider will be able to diagnose and treat the problem.
