It is not recommended to drink alcohol while taking bupropion hydrobromide. Combining alcohol and this antidepressant may cause unwanted side effects. However, because stopping alcohol abruptly while taking bupropion hydrobromide can increase your risk of seizures, talk to your healthcare provider before you stop drinking alcohol.
Taking bupropion hydrobromide with other antidepressants may affect the level of bupropion hydrobromide and the other antidepressant in your blood, increasing your risk of side effects. Also, taking bupropion hydrobromide with other antidepressants may increase your risk of seizures. Talk with your healthcare provider before combining bupropion hydrobromide with other antidepressant medications.
You should not take bupropion hydrobromide along with other products containing bupropion, including Budeprion SR®, Budeprion XL®, Buproban®, Forfivo™ XL, Wellbutrin®, Wellbutrin SR®, Wellbutrin XL®, and Zyban®.
Taking bupropion hydrobromide and amantadine may increase your risk of side effects. Your healthcare provider may decide to start you at a lower bupropion hydrobromide dose if you are taking amantadine.
Bupropion hydrobromide can increase the level of some antipsychotic medications in your blood, increasing your risk of side effects. Also, taking bupropion hydrobromide with antipsychotic medications may increase your chance of seizures. Talk with your healthcare provider before taking these medications together.
