Drug Interactions With Budeprion SR (Cont.)

 
Certain Arrhythmia Medications
Budeprion SR may raise the levels of certain arrhythmia medications in your blood, increasing your risk of side effects. If you are taking these drugs together, your healthcare provider may need to monitor you more closely -- especially when you are starting or stopping Budeprion SR.
 
Cyclophosphamide (Cytoxan)
While it is thought that cyclophosphamide may interact with Budeprion SR, there have been no reports of such an interaction in actual patients. If you are taking cyclophosphamide along with Budeprion SR, your healthcare provider may need to monitor you more closely and may need to adjust your doses of these medications.
 
Doxorubicin (Adriamycin, Doxil)
Doxorubicin may raise the level of Budeprion SR in your blood, increasing your chances of side effects. Your healthcare provider may need to decrease your Budeprion SR dose while you are taking doxorubicin.
 
Efavirenz (Sustiva)
While it is thought that efavirenz may interact with Budeprion SR, there have been no reports of such an interaction in actual patients. If you are taking efavirenz along with Budeprion SR, your healthcare provider may need to monitor you more closely and may need to adjust your doses of these medications.
 
Levodopa (Parcopa, Sinemet, Sinemet CR, Stalevo)
Taking Budeprion SR and levodopa together may increase your risk of side effects. Your healthcare provider may decide to start you at a lower Budeprion SR dose if you are taking levodopa.
 
Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors (MAOIs)
You should not take Budeprion SR if you have taken an MAOI within the past 14 days, due to an increased risk of dangerous side effects.
 
Nelfinavir (Viracept)
While it is thought that nelfinavir may interact with Budeprion SR, there have been no reports of such an interaction in actual patients. If you are taking nelfinavir along with Budeprion SR, your healthcare provider may need to monitor you more closely and may need to adjust your doses of these medications.
