Interactions With Budeprion SR Explained

Alcohol
It is not recommended that you drink alcohol while taking Budeprion SR. Combining alcohol and Budeprion SR together may cause unwanted side effects (see Wellbutrin SR and Alcohol). However, since stopping alcohol abruptly while taking Budeprion SR can increase your risk of seizures, you should talk with your healthcare provider before you stop drinking alcohol.

Other Antidepressants
Taking Budeprion SR with other antidepressants may affect the levels of Budeprion SR and other antidepressants in your blood, increasing your risk of side effects. Also, taking Budeprion SR with other antidepressants may increase your risk of seizures. Talk with your healthcare provider before combining Budeprion SR with other antidepressant medications.

You should not take Budeprion SR along with other products containing bupropion, including Buproban®, Budeprion XL®, Wellbutrin®, Wellbutrin XL®, and Zyban®.

Amantadine (Symmetrel)
Taking Budeprion SR and amantadine together may increase your risk of side effects. Your healthcare provider may decide to start you at a lower Budeprion SR dose if you are taking amantadine.

Antipsychotic Medications
Budeprion SR can raise the levels of some antipsychotic medications in your blood, increasing your risk of side effects. Also, taking Budeprion SR with antipsychotic medications may increase your chances of seizures. Talk with your healthcare provider before taking these medications together.

Beta Blockers
Budeprion SR may raise the levels of beta blockers in your blood, increasing your risk of side effects. If you are taking Budeprion SR along with a beta blocker, your healthcare provider may need to monitor you more closely and may need to decrease your dose of the beta blocker.
