Drug Interactions With Amphetamine-Dextroamphetamine Extended Release (Cont.)

 
Haloperidol (Haldol)
Taking amphetamine-dextroamphetamine extended release and haloperidol together can change the way the brain reacts to amphetamine-dextroamphetamine extended release, making it less effective. Your healthcare provider may need to adjust your dose of these drugs.
 
Lithium (Eskalith, Lithobid, Lithonate)
Taking amphetamine-dextroamphetamine extended release and lithium together can decrease the effectiveness of amphetamine-dextroamphetamine extended release. Your healthcare provider may need to adjust your dose of these drugs.
 
Medications for High Blood Pressure
Taking amphetamine-dextroamphetamine extended release and high blood pressure medication together can decrease the effectiveness of the blood pressure medication. Your healthcare provider may need to adjust your dose of these drugs.
 
Meperidine (Demerol)
Taking amphetamine-dextroamphetamine extended release and meperidine together can cause life-threatening side effects, such as very low blood pressure. Do not take meperidine and amphetamine-dextroamphetamine extended release together unless your healthcare provider specifically instructs you to do so.
 
Methenamine (Hiprex, Urex)
Taking amphetamine-dextroamphetamine extended release and methenamine together can decrease the amount of amphetamine-dextroamphetamine extended release in the blood, possibly making it less effective. Your healthcare provider may need to adjust your dose of these drugs.
 
MAO Inhibitors
Taking amphetamine-dextroamphetamine extended release and MAO inhibitors together can cause life-threatening side effects, such as very high blood pressure. Do not take amphetamine-dextroamphetamine extended release and MAO inhibitors together unless your healthcare provider specifically instructs you to do so.
